A Giant Leap For Landkind

For more than 35 years, Applegate has been on a mission to make meat you can feel good about. Today, we're doing our part for the environment by investing in regenerative agriculture.

Our goal: By the end of 2025, 100 percent of all APPLEGATE® beef hot dogs will be sourced from certified regenerative farms. This will help transition more than 6 million acres of grassland to regenerative.

Good meat as a force for good? We'll bite.

Positive Impact, One Small Bite At A Time

What exactly is regenerative agriculture? It's a set of holistic practices that aim to:

Enrich the soil

Icon resembling a recycle logo with leaves in the shape of the arrows.

Boost biodiversity

Icon of water droplet with a cross inside it.

Increase water retention

Icon of squiggly arrows passing through a barrier and a straight arrow being blocked.

Sequester carbon

Animals Can Regenerate The Land

Cattle Roam - Holistic, managed grazing mimics natural cycles and helps plants store carbon.

Poop in the Loop - key nutrients from manure fertilize soil.

Tread on Me - animal hooves break up dead vegetation, bury seeds and create areas for water to collect.

And it all adds up to healhty, rich soil that prevents erosion, stores carbon and boosts biodiversity.

And the cycle continues!

Biodiversity of plants and wildlife all year round.

Measurement Matters

How do we know regenerative agriculture works? It's all about measuring outcomes. That's why Applegate is working with the global leaders in regenerative agriculture to measure land-health outcomes, and all regeneratively raised APPLEGATE® products will be third-party certified.
